Job Summary To ensure the compliant, safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the Ports Potable Water, Sewage and Surface Water systems and equipment.
You will be responsible for successfully delivering all necessary maintenance activities and lead on any fault diagnosis and remedial works to defective assets to minimise disruption to Port Operations.
Actively own the asset portfolio ensuring small works replacement projects are planned and delivered for life expired assets.
Oversee any new installation and modifications to water and sewage systems ensuring all works are to the correct BS/EN standards and codes.
Deliver project improvement and innovation works to improve asset reliability, performance and functionality.
Skills and Qualifications • Time serviced Utilities Engineer / Commercial Plumbing through Apprenticeship or College route • City & Guilds, ONC/HNC minimum in Mechanical / Plumbing systems • Extensive experience in operating and maintaining Portable Water distribution systems and associated assets • Extensive knowledge of Portable Water Quality Control sampling and measures including undertaking corrective actions to maintain wholesome drinking water • Working knowledge of The Drinking Water Standards and Regulations • Working knowledge of operating and maintaining sewage and pumping systems • Experience in delivering Small Works asset replacement and improvement projects • Comprehensive experience of health and safety legislation and safe systems of works.
