Job overview Urology Nurse Specialist (Benign Team)The post is a fantastic development opportunity for an emerging or existing band to advance your clinical and leadership/management skills within the Urology Benign nursing team.
You will be joining our experienced team of ANPs/ACPs, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nursing Associate and Clinical Support Workers in delivering the benign urology pathways.We will provide extensive support and training opportunities with attached competencies for all clinical skills and an expectation that you will complete masters level modules to advance your own professional development and that of the service.
We are looking for a highly motivated, organised, caring and proactive individual who is either a current Band or experienced Band .
You must demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working as well as the ability to work independently.The Urology service is mainly based at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford but also supports the provision of clinics at the Horton Hospital in Banbury.The urological service is an expanding and complex service, making this an exciting time for nurse lead clinics and developments.

Main duties of the job We are recruiting into a permanent Band Urology Nurse Specialist post for an experienced nurse who is already working as band or and would like the opportunity to learn and progress in their clinical and managerial career.We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and highly motivated to work within the urology service.
You will work within an outpatient team of nurses, providing nurse led benign urology clinics and interventions such as lithotripsy for stone patients, intravesical botox and men's health.
You will also play an integral role in developing and supporting relationships within the wider urology team.
The main focus of the role will require you to work closely with the other specialist nurses/trainee ACPs in the benign nurse team, as well as working with the Uro-oncology nursing team and doctors in the different cancer pathways and diagnostic services.
You will not only be performing advanced skilled interventions but you will be using your clinical expertise to interpret your findings, make further requests for other diagnostics, as well as referring on to further practitioners or GPs.
