Job summary We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic individual to join the Macmillan urology cancer nursing team.
The role includes triaging fast track referrals and requesting diagnostic investigations.
You will be responsible for supporting patients and carers at a new cancer diagnosis and support patients when they have had a cancer recurrence.
You will develop skills in being able to autonomously follow up patients following their cancer treatment.
With the appropriate support and training we expect the individual to provide advice, information and support to patients, carers, and staff regarding all urology cancers.
You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring Patients receive the highest standards of care.
You will be required to work in partnership with other cancer providers.
The post holder will work with the band 7 team leader to develop and support the service.
Main duties of the job 1) To assist with the journey for patients with urological cancer and their family/friends ensuring a flexible approach and ability to participate in decision -making.
2) Assisting with the co -ordination of the service between all disciplines encompassing a multi disciplinary approach to care, offering expert advice and support, based on a good clinical and educational background.
3) To assist in the development of services to provide a holistic, supportive and coordinated service to patients at all stages of the care pathway.
4) To provide expert clinical skills and knowledge that will facilitate a high standard of care.
5) To work as part of a multi disciplinary team.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential NMC registered RGN Qualification Level 1 Diploma, Degree in Nursing Good standard of education equivalent of Maths and English GCSE at Grade C or above Desirable Masters certificate in Nursing speciality Experience Essential Evidence leadership through clinical expertise Demonstrate experience of service development improvement Significant Experience of working at Band 5 RGN level within an environment of clinical care.
