SEA delivers and supports ship and fleet protection products, undersea surveillance systems, integrated communications solutions and through life support services to customers around the globe.SEA Canada provides long-term support to multiple customers by conducting repair and refurbishment activities within Canada, and is contracted to deliver the Torpedo Launching Systems for the Royal Canadian Navy's River-class destroyers.
What you will do:As part of the core member of SEA Canada's growing team, you will lead the growth of our support business and order book for highly engineered naval systems.
We are looking for a highly experienced individual who will ensure that suitable opportunities are identified and successfully managed between client, SEA Canada and our parent company.
This will require an individual who has passion for and experience within the Naval environment and can seamlessly bridge the gap between the needs of our clients and SEA's businesses in Canada and the UK.
Specifically, you will support the growth in sales of maritime launchers and communications equipment, develop in-service support contracts and scope new training support contracts.
As a military sales manager, candidates must have extensive operational and sales and experience across a wide range of military capabilities to ensure that can fully understand and interpret client needs.
Successful candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate their ability to: Build relationships with key stakeholders in Navies, research agencies, defence procurement organizations and support agencies, specifically within the Government of Canada.
Understand and influence existing and emerging requirements for Naval platforms and systems.
Grow sales of highly engineered naval systems.
Apply strong and effective account management to identify and develop opportunities for equipment upgrades, updates and enhancements on existing platforms.
Lead and coordinate opportunity capture and bidding activities, drawing upon company processes and co-ordinating technical and commercial resources.
Liaise with Business Development, Sales, Marketing and Engineering teams across the UK sites to achieve SEA Canada business plan objectives.
Communicate effectively with SEA's Executive Leaders in Canada and provide regular briefings on developing opportunities.
Represent SEA Canada and SEA Group at applicable trade shows and industry events in Canada and overseas as required.
Ensure governance and reporting processes are managed and reported through the company Business Management System.
Understand and implement the company environmental, health & safety policy.
Always set a strong personal example regarding all health and safety matters.Essential Skills & Experience An experienced sales manager with a successful track record in developing new business with prime contractors and system integrators in the Naval sector.
Proven leadership skills in delivering operational planning or strategic campaign analysis.
Detailed knowledge of the Canadian defence industry and stakeholders.
Worked in British Defence industry to support understanding of parent company.
Worked in Canadian Defence industry to support Canadian business growth.
Operator experience 10+ years Naval Warfare Specialist NATO OF3/OF4.
Detailed knowledge of naval military doctrine and operating concepts within a tier 1 NATO nation.
Comprehensive understanding of Anti Submarine Warfare, Mine Warfare and wider underwater Battlespace, with operational experience.
Operational understanding of ship or submarine combat systems.
Experience with underwater effectors, specifically Light Weight Torpedo weapon systems.
A goal orientated, self-starter, able to initiate and develop customer contacts, co-ordinate and lead customer campaigns, generating business opportunities and converting them to orders.
Individual must be tenacious, confident and have good written and oral communications skills.
Able to deliver strategic industry focussed presentations at Defence and Security Forum/Events.
Able to keep up to date with the latest emerging trends and technologies for SEA Canada's products and technology Transfer from SEA in the UK and contribute to defining our future products strategy.
Be prepared to travel within Canada and internationally.
Fluent in English.
Must be capable of achieving a Canadian security clearance.Desirable Skills & Experience An SEA Group employee with minimum 6 months with the group.
