About the opportunity Our client is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager with a strong background in the mechanical manufacturing industry.
The role requires the candidate to identify and secure new business opportunities, develop long-term customer relationships, and drive sales growth by promoting their manufacturing capabilities and solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Market Research & Business Strategy: - Conduct market research to identify potential clients and business opportunities.
- Analyse industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to inform business strategy.
- Develop and implement business development strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: - Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the mechanical manufacturing sector.
- Develop leads through networking, attending industry events, and leveraging existing relationships.
- Proficient in utilising marketing tools for generating Leads and distributing across the team in Sales.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in target companies, including engineers, procurement teams, and executives.
Sales & Contract Negotiation: - Present proposals, to client needs.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals that are favourable for both the client and the company.
- Collaborate with internal teams for Pricing strategies based on Client/project background.
Relationship Management: - Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, providing exceptional customer service.
- Foster long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and to identify additional opportunities.
- Salvage lost clients and established the relationships again.
Collaboration & Teamwork: - Work closely with the marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment in promotional activities and product offerings.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to tailor manufacturing solutions that meet client specifications and technical requirements.
- Report regularly to senior management on business development progress, KPIs, and sales forecasts.
Financial Analysis & Reporting: - Prepare and present business development reports, including forecasts, budgets, and sales performance analysis.
- Track sales and business development metrics to measure progress against goals.
- Assist in setting revenue targets and help ensure that these targets are met or exceeded.
Networking & Industry Presence: - Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to enhance the company's visibility.
- Build and maintain a professional network within the mechanical manufacturing industry.
To be successful in this role, you will need: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering &/Or Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in business development or sales in the mechanical manufacturing industry if above qualification is not available.
- Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events regularly in England shire specially, Southern Scotland will be very rare.
- Strong understanding of electro-mechanical lifting products would be ideal - Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and close new business opportunities.
- Experience with contract negotiation, pricing strategies, and proposal writing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong financial acumen, including the ability to develop sales forecasts and manage budgets.
