About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 08 Contract Length: 12 months The Role : S&P Global is looking for a junior Geoscientist to join its Europe upstream technical research team to cover an upcoming period of parental leave.
The Team: Upstream Solutions from S&P Global Commodity Insights comprise some of the most extensive and complete information, analytics, insight, and advisory services in the world.
We deliver oil and gas databases and software, energy transition insight, energy supply and demand forecasts, and comprehensive data on transactions at the global and regional market levels.
The Impact: The Upstream Asset Valuation Analyst functions as an important member of S&P Global's Europe upstream technical research team.
This role will enable you to contribute to the firm's expert research and analysis of upstream activity and meet the demanding requirements of a wide-ranging customer base in the upstream sector.

Responsibilities: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to generate asset-level production, cost and economic analysis focused on oil and gas assets in Europe for the Vantage analytical platform Support the regional lead with customer queries of varying complexity by providing subject matter expertise, timely insight and good judgement Contribute to the research, development, validation and population of a world leading E&P database for onshore and offshore assets in Europe Execute research to help build and maintain S&P Global's comprehensive asset valuation database for onshore and offshore assets in Europe The role may also involve presenting internally What We're Looking For: Geoscience or Earth Science Degree or equivalent, with a particular focus on Petroleum Geology One or more years' experience in an upstream geology/geoscience related position within a petroleum operating or service company is desirable but not essential; recent graduates are encouraged to apply Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Knowledge and experience of exploration activity and process is desirable You will need excellent research and analytical skills with attention to detail and be a confident communicator with the team Self-motivated and enthusiastic and the ability to work alone or as part of a team About S&P Global Commodity Insights At S&P Global Commodity Insights, our complete view of global energy and commodities markets enables our customers to make decisions with conviction and create long-term, sustainable value.
