About the Role: As a HSE Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing risk to prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related illnesses.
You will ensure our company complies with all relevant HSE legislation and drive continuous improvements in our H&S systems and culture.
Key Responsibilities: Keep the H&S Management System up-to-date with current legislation.
Monitor environmental legislation to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with the Compliance Director to achieve H&S and Environmental goals.
Conduct regular site visits (60% travel) to build relationships and stay informed about business changes.
Provide advice and support to Site Responsible People (SRPs).
Develop a group-wide environmental management system.
Assist with the implementation of the H&S Manual across all sites.
Produce monthly H&S and environmental status reports.
Drive improvements in the H&S system and foster a positive H&S culture.
Maintain high HSE standards and encourage a proactive approach to H&S.
Compile and maintain accurate H&S records.
Manage and conduct H&S audits and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Chair/attend site H&S meetings and document minutes.
Disseminate H&S and environmental information to all staff.
Conduct Risk Assessments, including COSHH assessments.
Perform site inspections and monitoring.
Ensure H&S training is conducted and provide training as needed.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Senior Leadership Team.
Key Skill Requirements: Thorough knowledge of H&S legislation and HSE Guidance.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent qualification.
GCSE or A Level in Chemistry/Science.
Willingness to travel to sites in the UK.
