Home to one of the world's largest natural deep-water harbours, A&P Falmouth facility is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK.
We are looking for Tug Deck Hands to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
So, what will you do?
Working as part of a team offering 24/7 coverage as required, you'll support the marine and port operations of A&P Falmouth.
The role will involve: Acting as deck crew on all three of our harbour tugs undertaking deck work and rope handling Assisting the Duty Master with routine maintenance tasks onboard tugs, workboats and in shoreside facilities Assisting with the mooring and unmooring of vessels within the Port Carrying out nightwatch duties on vessels within the Port Conducting workboat duties Being an active member of the department's Safety Committee, helping to maintain and improve the safety culture within the department And what are we looking for?
Individuals should have completed all STCW short courses including all recent amendments They should also hold a valid ENG1/ML5 medical Experience of harbour / at sea towage would be advantageous although full training will be provided Experience of operating machinery such as forklifts and cranes would also be ideal although full training will be provided Due to the nature of this role, this position requires that candidates are able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and public holidays when required to meet customer and operational requirements.
