A deanery vacancy has arisen at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre to start nd April , fixed term period of months.The post holder will work as part of a team of surgeons led by Consultants.
This will include ward work ward, clinic and in the operating theatre.You will cover the specialities of Sarcoma, sub-specialities orthopaedic including Rheumatology, Rehabilitation and Spinal as part of the on-call duties.
Daily support to the Orthopaedic teams in carrying out the daily ward rounds, patient admissions, orthopaedic POAC out-patient clinics, and opportunities for operating theatre sessions.
There are research opportunities to get involved in, to bolster your CV and improve your portfolio with many trials and audits coming from the hospital.The post holder will be required to work a duty rota.
The current rota is a : full shift rota Applicants must hold a full GMC registration with a license to practice on appointment.
Applicants must hold a valid ALS/ILS certificate.

Each post holder will have a nominated Consultant as their supervisor to help identify and achieve educational goals during their time in post.
There is a contractual obligation on employers to monitor working hours through robust local monitoring arrangements supported by national guidance, and on individual doctors to co-operate with those monitoring arrangements.
The Junior Doctor will be required to work a duty rota and must be ILS/ALS trained.
The current rota is a : full shift F/CT/CMT/GPST tier rota.
The post holder will work alongside the foundation-tier doctors, SpR- on the orthopaedic wards and be responsible for sharing the ward work load.
