Job summary Weare inviting applications to fill our (STR level) vacancies at The LeedsTeaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of GI Radiology.Youwill be based at SJUH but work cross site at Leeds General Infirmary.
There are2 posts commencing September 2025 and are12 month fixed term contracts.
Candidatesmust be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license topractice by the intended start date.
Main duties of the job Successful candidates will be expected to provide a high-quality gastrointestinal radiology service, working closely with the consultant radiologists in this speciality.
They will be required to develop a specialist interest in aspects of gastrointestinal radiology, and participate in the Radiology HST teaching programme.
They will also participate in departmental clinical research and audit and assist in the training and supervision of junior medical staff (radiological and other clinicians).There will also be the option to develop US and CT non-vascular intervention techniques.
In addition they will support the delivery of acute CT sessions as senior radiologists.

Thetimetable/job plan will be based on hours clinical sessions per week.Sessions will be based between the sites of St Jamess University Hospital(SJUH) and Leeds General Infirmary (LGI).
A further 4 hours/1 session per weekis intended for private study, teaching preparation, audit and research.
Additionally,an alternate week evening general acute CT list (5-9pm) will be incorporatedinto the fellowship timetable (2 hours plain time, 2 hours premium time = hours per week total).
There is no further on-call commitment.
The total hourlycommitment per week is therefore 40 hours.
Person Specification Additional Requirements Essential Extracurricular activities / achievements relevant to the specialty.
Evidence of having undertaken research through publications and presentations ideally in the field of GI Radiology.
Qualifications Essential MBBS or equivalent medical qualification FRCR (Parts 1 and 2) or equivalent evidence of radiology training with at least years in a UK recognised Radiology Training Scheme.
The candidate should have or be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT in Clinical Radiology by the start of the post.
Desirable MRCP, MRCS, or other postgraduate degree.
Clinical Experience and Career Progression Essential At least years experience in a recognised Radiology Training Scheme after full GMC registration or equivalent, and evidence of achievement of foundation competences, in line with GMC standards / Make the care or your patient your first concern provide a good standard of practice and care take prompt action if you think that patient safety, dignity or comfort is being compromised.
Protect and promote the health of patients and of the public treat patients as individuals and respect their dignity.
Work in partnership with patients work with colleagues in the ways that best serve patients interests.

Eligibility, Fitness to practice, and Language Skills Essential Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at intended start date.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent (as required to complete Foundation competences) by intended start date.
Is up to date and fit to practise safely and is aware of own training needs.
All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written & spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients/colleagues demonstrated by one of the following, That applicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English, or academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) results showing a score of at least in each domain .
(speaking, listening, reading, writing), with an overall score of at least , to be achieved in a single sitting and within 24 months of the time of application.
If applicants believe they have adequate communication skills, but do not have evidence in one of the above forms, they must provide alternative supporting evidence of language skills.

Demonstrates an interest in and commitment to the specialty beyond the mandatory curriculum.
Evidence of interest in, and experience of teaching and evidence of feedback for teaching.
Instructor status (or a recommendation for instructor status) in an advanced life support course (ALS, ATLS, EPLS, APLS) or equivalent course.
Ability to provide complete details of employment history and evidence that career progression is consistent with personal circumstances.
Evidence that present achievement andperformance is commensurate with totality of their period of training.
