Trust And Foundation Manager

Details of the offer

Are you looking for a role in an organisation where trust and foundation income is already well set up, has current track record in income and some multi-year commitments going forward?
Here at Settle, our team is 100% committed to preventing homelessness among young people leaving care.
As Trust and Foundation Fundraising Manager, you'll be working to generate income which will enable Settle to expand its reach, achieve its strategic goals and, ultimately, make a real difference to the amazing young people we serve.
Trust and Foundation income is a key area for Settle, and whilst we know that the fundraising from trusts is currently very competitive, we are also fortunate to have seen steady growth in this area.
In joining Settle, you'll be joining a fast growing and truly impactful organisation with lots of opportunity for progression and development within our friendly team.
We're a deeply committed team of 15 supported by a brilliant board of 7 trustees who help us achieve our social mission.
We have ambitious plans to continue scaling our impact over the coming years and are in the second year of our 3-year strategy.
Settle provides intensive one-to-one support to young people, addressing practical life skills, sustaining a tenancy and managing emotional wellbeing.
Our preventative approach to homelessness helps care- experienced young people to make long-lasting changes and thrive.
We are a fast-growing organisation and 2023/24 was a big year for Settle.
We worked with more young people than ever before, developed new services and expanded our team.
Since launching in 2015, we've supported over 600 young people across London and the South East and we're proud to have won the Care Leavers category award at the 2023 Children and Young People Now Awards.
We also featured in Escape the City's Top 100 social impact organisations 2022, Guardian Public Service Awards finalists in 2019 and Big Issue's Top 100 Changemakers in 2022.
We take a steady and sustainable approach to our fundraising.
Our grants income target for this financial year to April is around £950k, and next year we expect this to rise to just over £1 million.
With 90% of this year's grant income and over 50% of next year's grant income secure already, we are well-positioned to meet these targets.
We have long-standing relationships with funders including The Henry Smith Charity, Garfield Weston Foundation, The National Lottery and the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, and currently hold multi-year grants with more than ten funders.
As Trust and Foundation Fundraising Manager at Settle you can expect to be well-supported in your work, and well-equipped with the data and resources needed.
With strong financial management, effective cross-organisational collaboration and efficient processes in place around our monitoring, evaluation and data-sharing, we are confident we can support you to deliver your best results.
Through weekly check-ins and monthly 1:1s, we always ensure that workload and work/life balance are on the agenda.
Reporting directly to our Head of Fundraising, you'll lead on writing grant applications, reporting to funders, managing our prospects pipeline and developing and nurturing long-lasting and rewarding relationships with Trust and Foundation funders.
To succeed in Settle's mission, we know that we need to attract and retain good staff.
This year's staff wellbeing survey found that 93% of the team would recommend Settle as an employer to a friend.
Our commitment to staff wellbeing is absolute and is reflected in the range of benefits offered.
These include 4 wellbeing days per year for staff to spend as they wish, an annual team away day and quarterly staff socials.
Whether we're planting cabbages at the local community garden or making our own essential oils, we love spending time together as a team.
HOW THE ORGANISATION SUPPORTS FUNDRAISING   At Settle, we acknowledge that fundraising success requires more than just an excellent fundraiser.
In an increasingly competitive market, fundraisers must be able to evidence best practice across the organisation to attract and retain support from Trusts and Foundations.
Fundraisers at Settle can expect access to the high-quality resources they need, from up-to-date accounts and budgets, to compelling impact reports and outcomes data.
What's more, they can rely on the support of our highly skilled and engaged board of Trustees, Senior Leadership and wider team.
HOW WE COME TOGETHER AS AN ORGANISATION   One of Settle's real strengths lies in its warm and friendly team culture.
Through monthly whole-team meetings and coffee breaks, through quarterly staff socials and through our annual team away day, we work hard to keep connected and support one another's wellbeing.
Additional initiatives offered this year have included the monthly Settle Content Club, where staff come together to swap notes on topical books and podcasts; the Settle Swap Shop, hosted by our Environment and Sustainability Working Group and the Settle Smiles event, designed to spread a smile in celebration of the International Week of Happiness at Work.
