Job description Job responsibilities Maintain patient confidentiality and work within practice guidelines and protocols at all times Demonstrate clinical excellence in practice nursing, adhering to national and local policies/guidelines/protocols and Patient Group Directives (PGDs) Initiate and arrange a methodical assessment of patient and service needs Work within an integrated and multidisciplinary team environment using appropriate referral pathways To be aware of health and safety issues affecting staff, patients and visitors and keep up to date with health and safety training Decide on appropriate wound dressing for individual patients in line with practice policy and in accordance with practice formulary.
Maintain and record accurate patient records on the computer Assist and chaperone GPs, when necessary, with the examination and treatment of patients.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential We are looking for an experienced, qualified Practice Nurse who has previously worked in a GP surgery or similar environment.
Of course, you must maintain current membership of a professional organisation, , RCN with a valid NMC pin.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and think logically, whilst having an understanding and sympathetic nature is essential.
We use EMIS as our clinical IT system and previous experience of this would be an advantage.
