Transport Supervisor -Nights

Owens Group is a fast developing, multisite organisation, with a large diverse customer base, making this an exciting opportunity.
As a result, Owens Group is looking to recruit a  Night Traffic Supervisor.
Shifts available: Sunday to Thursday - hours to be discussed at interview The ideal candidate will oversee and coordinate transportation operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulations.
The goal of a Traffic Supervisor is to ensure operations run smoothly by giving adequate driver and vehicle support.
Responsibilities Supervise daily transportation operations, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods.
Ensure the vehicles are roadworthy and compliant and take necessary actions in case of unforeseen events Conduct Driver 1 to 1 Ensure drivers complete vehicle checks correctly Debrief and manage drivers hours Monitor transportation costs and implement cost-saving strategies Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing guidance and support as needed.
Coordinate schedules, routes, and vehicle assignments to optimise efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including vehicle maintenance and driver performance.
Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries and resolve issues related to transportation services.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety standards.
Collaborate with other departments to improve overall operational efficiency.
Conduct regular training sessions for staff on best practices in transportation management.
Skills Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong management capabilities with a focus on team development and motivation.
Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other IT applications relevant to transportation logistics.
Demonstrated computer literacy with the ability to adapt to new software systems as required.
Exceptional customer service skills, ensuring a positive experience for clients.
Ability to drive and possess a valid driving licence for relevant vehicles.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, enabling effective multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
