Role OverviewTo manage the Milton Keynes wholesale transport operation, working in tandem with the Drivers and Mawdsleys colleagues to ensure the safe, legal and efficient distribution of all product maintaining an ever-present focus on both operator licence adherence and MHRA compliance.Key AccountabilitiesChampion Health & Safety in all aspects of the operations, ensuring that the company's zero-accident culture is promoted and worked to;Ensure that all vehicles and drivers within the job holder's sphere of responsibility remain compliant with all regulatory requirements and business-agreed processes;Align with all MHRA regulations/company SOP's to safeguard product integrity and cool-chain stipulations;Manage the drivers to deliver operational and customer service excellence;Monitoring and reporting accidents;Provide a service to customers that meet the targets of the business in regards to order fill, delivery on-time and professional customer service;Be involved and lead, if relevant, any projects that are required to support the business strategy;Plan driver rotas ahead, and liaise daily with the warehouse and ML teams;Spot check security searches on drivers and vehicles, carrying out any investigations and disciplinary meetings should they be required;Responsible for all LGV fleet at depot, ensuring services and planned maintenance are adhered to at all times;Be part of a weekend emergency cover rota;Be involved with the pick and pack operation to ensure drivers depart on time;Manage and induct all new drivers, ensuring that holidays, absence, and company policies are adhered to daily;Manage the team through agreed KPIs and demonstrate improvements against agreed targets.What we're looking for from youFlexible approach to work and able to work shifts with a willingness to work additional hour when required;Able to plan and prioritise effectively;Able to delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively;Confident, enthusiastic, with good interpersonal skills;Uses initiative and judgement effectively to make correct decisions;Able to motivate staff of all abilities through tact, politeness and assertiveness;Ability to deal with difficult situations resulting in satisfactory closure;Sound knowledge of transport operations;Excellent knowledge of WTD
