Westland Horticulture is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our dynamic team at our Ellesmere Port site.
Reporting directly to the Head of Logistics, you will be at the heart of our logistics operations, ensuring the seamless and cost-effective coordination of inbound and outbound logistics.
Your efforts will be instrumental in maintaining our exceptional 99% OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) service level while consistently delivering outstanding service to our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with the daily delivery schedule ensuring service levels are met.
Collation of loads for inbound & outbound distribution.
Booking in collections & deliveries with customers.
Calculating costs for agreed loads.
Liaising with hauliers, suppliers & customers.
Provide cost saving ideas/proposals.
Advise customers with up-to-date information regarding delay & accurate ETA's.
Printing orders & delivery notes that form part of "planned loads." Compilation of cost analysis on a monthly basis.
Compilation of purchase order details for each haulage transaction.
Liaising with drivers / 3rd party hauliers daily.
Support the delivery the operational plan for each season.
Investigate any service or operational failures to ensure they are understood and prevented in future.
Help develop and support supplier relationships – pricing agreements, performance, and conduct business reviews.
General booking deliveries / printing loading notes etc Produce weekly weighbridge reports for management meetings.
Integration into load planning Address any invoice queries and liaise with relevant accounts departments, internally and externally.
Essential Criteria: A minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communicator (verbal & written).
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good analytical and numerical skills.
Computer literate with strong capabilities in excel.
Due to the location of the site own transport is essential.
