We are looking for A highly skilled and dynamic Transport Planner to join our dedicated team in Dartford.

What you will be doing as Transport Planner Take full ownership of your shipments, ensuring comprehensive planning and understanding of all associated aspects.
Create the most efficient and achievable operational plans that minimise empty kilometers and maximise gross profit.
Provide drivers with accurate, detailed, and achievable plans to ensure smooth execution of shipments.
Monitor all vehicles under your control, ensuring timeliness, communicating delays, and reporting mechanical issues to the fleet department and shipment stakeholders.
Conduct daily follow-ups with drivers using TMS de-brief screens and trailer trackers to ensure on-time performance and completion of all shipment milestones.
Record, cost, and recover any additional expenses incurred during transit.
Manage daily collection capacity, ensuring sufficient vehicle availability to meet targets.
Collaborate with the Forwarding Manager to buy or sell loads as needed.
Track and report drivers' performance, addressing issues with your line manager and seeking improvements wherever possible.
Ensure all plans comply with relevant laws, including Tacho law, Mobility Pack, and Cabotage regulations.
Undertake any other duties as requested by your line manager, in line with the role.
Our Ideal Transport Planner Previous experience in UK transport planning within the freight/logistics industry is essential along with an excellent knowledge of UK geography for effective route planning and logistics management.
Is adaptable and demonstrates the ability to swiftly adapt to changing circumstances and think on their feet to resolve issues effectively.
Has meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
Willing and able to adjust priorities and manage multiple tasks as required and responds positively to shifting demands and requirements.
Capable of working independently, managing time efficiently, and meeting deadlines.
Proficient in using various IT tools and software to enhance productivity and streamline processes and produce comprehensive reports Can communicate clearly and professionally with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Ensures that all tasks are completed within set timeframes and to the required standard.
