National Transport Manager West Midlands with travel to Crawley and Leeds From 40K plus car Full Time, Permanent Our client divides spaces by designing and manufacturing internal glazed and solid partitions with integrated door sets.
They are looking for an experienced National Transport Manager to join the team to play a key role for the development and growth of the business.
The role will oversee the overall management, utilisation, and cost of the commercial fleet, with a clear focus on reducing overall costs relating to: Agency drivers 3rd party carriage Penalty charges and fines relating to legal infringements Cost of non-conformance Leading a team is a key focus for this role, requiring excellent communication and organisational skills, and working to build and maintain solid relationships with key stakeholders (commercial sales, warehouses, factory etc.)
The person will become a nominated person on their "O" Licence for the business, working with directors.
Responsibilities: Manage and lead a team of Drivers and a Transport Coordinator Control the cost associated with materials distribution Leading by example to build an effective transport team with an excellent customer service culture Set out annual KPIs in line with the business strategy To ensure the smooth planning of daily routes to meet the delivery requirements of KPL customers alongside the Crawley team and Transport Coordinator To ensure that all legal and KPL logistics reporting requirements are fulfilled Organising commercial fleet maintenance Purchasing and selling of commercial fleet Training on Tachographs for new drivers Attending road traffic accidents for commercial fleet Supporting HGV and LGV Drivers following traumatic events In this role there will be national travel and overnight stays required.
