Transport Manager – In-House Retailer – Macclesfield – Circa £45,000 Loom Talent is recruiting on behalf of a well-established in-house retailer for a Transport Manager based in Leek.
This is a critical role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to lead a key operational function and drive excellence across the transport department.
The Role As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire transport operation, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and delivery performance meet the highest standards.
Key duties include: Managing and developing a team of drivers and support staff to maintain operational excellence.
Ensuring compliance with all transport legislation, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
Overseeing fleet management, maintenance schedules, and route planning to optimize performance and minimise costs.
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless logistics and delivery operations.
Reporting on key performance metrics to senior management and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
About You The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in transport or logistics management, with a proven ability to lead teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Key requirements include: Strong knowledge of transport regulations, compliance, and safety standards.
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
A commitment to operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
A CPC qualification and prior experience in a retail, FMCG, or in-house logistics setting would be highly advantageous.
