Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment have partnered with a specialist metal stockholder to assist in their search for a Senior Transport Co-Ordinator on a permanent basis.As a Transport Administrator/Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for all transport operations, including documenting goods in/out, all admin and co-ordination of transport operations and all scheduling.Key duties/responsibilities:Ensure timely despatch of outbound vehicles and track their journeysSupport the scheduling of transport & delivery routes, identifying and monitoring trends to improve delivery and reduce issuesEnsure the operation remains legally compliant through monitoring weight limits, driver hours and tachographsRespond swiftly to breakdowns and vehicle defect reports, facilitating a smooth & prompt delivery of materialsLiaising with Operations & Admin departmentsAbility to troubleshoot, identify where improvements can be made and offer up suggestionsSkills required:Enthusiastic, focussed and ambitious with the ability to troubleshoot and make improvements to processes where possibleExperience using an in-house transport management systemExperience in a Transport or Logistics related administrative roleGeneral understanding of transport legislation and logistical operationsExperience in working in a customer focused, time sensitive environment with daily fluctuating workloadsAbility to react quickly to information, solving changes to delivery routesProficient in computer skills – experience using a transport management CRM system advantageousFull UK driving licenceFlexibility to cover 6am-230pm shift when required for holidays / sickness cover is essentialWhat's in it for you:Competitive salary between £25,000 and £27,000 depending on experienceFriendly hours, 9am-5pm Monday – Thursday, 9am-2pm Friday33 days holiday (25 days + 8 bank holidays) raising to 36 days holiday after 5 full years' service (28 days + 8 bank holidays)Corporate uniform providedAccess to training programmes and sponsored qualificationsClick Apply Now to submit your application and a Thorn Baker Consultant will be in touch!CHE01
