We are a temperature-controlled distribution company, operating nationwide with our fleet of vans to artics, moving food products in a very busy industry.
We run a 24/7 operation and our focus is always on providing our customers with an immediate and exceptional service.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role will be responsible for managing drivers and vehicles in line with company policies and procedures.
The Transport Supervisor will also assist the Operations Manager in their duties and will take part in the planning of operations.
The ultimate goal of the Transport Supervisor is to ensure operations run smoothly by giving adequate driver and vehicle support.
Manage driver behaviours and performance and ensuring any action required is taken in line with company policies and procedures -Assist the Operations Manager in planning the weekly workload and organisation of manpower to ensure that all runs are covered in a cost effective and efficient manner Good understanding of transport and driver's legislation -Proficiency in computer skills -Commitment to upholding HSE company policies -Driving License required.
HGV License beneficial but not a necessity Monday to Friday Office hours (Generally 09:00 to 17:00) -Private Health Care -Employee Discounts -Good opportunities to grow and develop the company and themselves -Future qualifications opportunities will arise For one week per month, the transport supervisor will be required to look after the operations during evening and weekends.
They will monitor the phone (using company mobile phone) and deal with any enquiry/issue that arises.
During the "on-call weekend", there will be planning responsibilities for the following day (Saturday for Sunday and Sunday for Monday).
The on-call duties will be home based (outside of office hours) and will not require physical attendance.
Paid overtime will be required from time to time
