Position: Transformer Design Engineer Location: Bromsgrove Salary: £60,000 Sponsorship Available for Eligible Candidates KO2's client, a leader in innovative power solutions, is seeking a skilled Transformer Design Engineer to join their growing team in Bromsgrove.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects across renewable energy, industrial applications, and voltage optimisation systems.
The Role: As a Transformer Design Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in designing bespoke transformers to meet rigorous certifications and standards (CE, UL).
Your expertise will guide the development of products for applications such as: Battery Energy Storage Systems : Transforming renewable energy into usable power for homes and industrial facilities, ensuring continuity during grid outages.
Voltage Optimisation Units : Enhancing efficiency and extending the lifespan of equipment by fine-tuning incoming voltage.
Wind and Solar Farm Applications : Supporting the growing electrification focus by stepping up and stepping down voltages for renewable energy integration.
You'll work closely with sales teams to advise on feasibility, manage engineering resources, and ensure optimal transformer design using 2D/3D CAD software.
Your knowledge of core materials, windings, and UK standards will be vital in delivering high-performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Designing bespoke power transformers for diverse industries, including mining and renewable energy.
Ensuring designs meet regulatory standards and certifications.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align product capabilities with client needs.
Managing end-to-end design processes, focusing on core and winding specifications.
Requirements: Proven experience as a Transformer Design Engineer with a track record of designing transformers from concept to completion.
Deep knowledge of transformer materials, UK standards, and industry regulations.
Proficiency in 2D or 3D CAD software for transformer design.
Strong problem-solving skills to advise on technical feasibility and innovative solutions.
