Job summary The Transformation Lead Nurse for Urgent & Emergency Care is a pivotal role within the Trust's senior leadership team.
The postholder will contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of the Trust's strategic and operational objectives to provide high quality Urgent & Emergency Care services and promote a culture that is progressive, inclusive and driven by a core set of values.
The Transformation Lead Nurse for Urgent & Emergency Care has responsibility on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer for the delivery of the Trust's Urgent & Emergency Care improvement programme.
The postholder will work closely with Divisional leadership teams, the Associate Medical Director (on behalf of the Executive Medical Officer) and the Chief Operating Officer to ensure that Urgent & Emergency Care services are safe, responsive and effective for the patients that we serve.
The postholder will act as a role model for outstanding leadership and management and play a vital role in delivering evidence-based best practice in Urgent & Emergency Care services in line with the Trust's vision, values and strategic goals.
The postholder will work closely with partners across the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Integrated Care System to ensure patients receive high quality Urgent & Emergency Care in the most appropriate setting.
Main duties of the job This postholder will work closely with the Divisional Leadership Teams, and colleagues from the Executive Medical Director's Office, Executive Director of Nursing Office and the Chief Operating Officer's Office to lead, co-ordinate and advise on all elements of Urgent & Emergency Care improvement.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered nurse Educated to Masters level or Postgraduate Diploma level with relevant equivalent experience Evidence of continuous professional development Experience Essential Leading change in complex systems across a number of projects or initiatives Significant experience in an acute provider organisation within the NHS, with significant experience at a senior level within nursing (Head of Nursing or equivalent).
Prior experience of leading significant service re-design or quality initiatives Contribution to Urgent & Emergency Care improvement at System, Regional or National level Successful delivery of a portfolio of improvement work related to Urgent & Emergency Care Knowledge Essential Specialist Urgent & Emergency Care best practice knowledge Good understanding of Urgent & Emergency Care guidance and policy, including but not limited to NHS England, Care Quality Commission, Getting It Right First Time (UEC), Royal College of Emergency Medicine, Society of Acute Medicine Good understanding of integrated care framework within the NHS Knowledge of quality improvement / service development methodologies, tools and techniques Desirable Awareness of Strategic management processes and their application
