Training Programme Director - Study Leave For Anaesthesia

Job summary The Anaesthesia Training Programme Director for Study Leave for the North West (Manchester) Rotation will support the Head of School/Associate Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Anaesthesia.
The post holder will lead on the development of the School's Study Leave strategy and contribute to supporting the Head of School around assuring the quality of courses, which are available, and administering the Study Leave budget for Stages 1, 2 and 3.
The post holder will be a member of the School Specialty Training Committee.
This is a 3 year secondment with possibility to extend to a maximum of three years, subject to mutual agreement Main duties of the job Work in collaboration with Head of School of Anaesthesia to administer the Study Leave budgets for all Stages of training.
To work with interested trainers in the development of local courses.
To ensure that all trainees receive the best value for money from their study leave budget.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Consultant or Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists Currently working in NHS in North-West England Desirable Education Qualification such as Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Medical Education Experience Essential Experience of Quality Assurance in the School of Anaesthesia Experience in the use of the Study Leave systems for NHSE Experience as a panel member on ARCP Experience of participating in Quality Panels on the School of Anaesthesia National experience in Anaesthesia with the Royal College of Anaesthetists, and representation of the School of Anaesthesia at a National Level Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection and Equality and Diversity in the last 3 years.
Applicants who are doctors require a Licence to Practise Desirable Previous or current appointment as a Leader in Healthcare Education Skills Essential Demonstrable leadership skills and an ability to influence and motivate others A strong sense of vision and ability to innovate.
Politically astute with an ability to sensitively manage complexity and uncertainty Ability to problem solve and maintain objectivity Strong interpersonal, communication, written and presentation skills Committed to own personal development and an ability to support others to develop and progress Desirable Ability to quickly establish personal and professional credibility with colleagues and other key stakeholders.
