Trainee Tree Surgeon

Job Overview
We are seeking a self-employed individual to work in the tree surgery industry. This position is suitable for someone looking to learn on-site alongside college or who wishes to gain experience either before or after qualifying. The ideal candidate will be fit, comfortable at height, happy outdoors in all weather, quick to learn, and a good communicator with the ability to work effectively with both hand and power tools. This role involves not only the pruning and removal of trees but also the planting of trees and hedges under the guidance of a qualified and experienced individual.
Responsibilities Loading and unloading vehicles. Assisting crew leaders with completing work on site. Learning new skills in the tree surgery field. Driving or learning to drive vehicles to and from the site. Requirements Some experience in tree surgery or a related field is helpful. Strong mechanical knowledge to operate various tools and equipment safely is preferred. Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices, including gardening and groundskeeping. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent physical fitness, as the role requires lifting, climbing, and working at heights. A valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation to job sites. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
