Trafford's Trading Standards Team is part of a larger group of Regulatory Services, all co-located at Trafford Town Hall.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual able to work on their own initiative, but also part of a team.
You will need to demonstrate a proven ability and willingness to study and develop your skills and knowledge to successfully complete the Regulatory Compliance Officer (RCO) apprenticeship and then the Trading Standards Professional qualification (including Weights and Measures).
You will join our forward-thinking Trading Standards Services using a range of innovative problem-solving enforcement tactics to protect our Trafford residents and businesses.
We will be looking to advance our officer through an apprenticeship pathway, with mentoring and support to the right candidate who can demonstrate the potential needed to become a fully qualified Trading Standards Officer.

About you You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work independently but also as part of a team.

With the exception of Food Standards, you will be working in a supported learning environment to be able to develop the skills and knowledge needed to deliver an excellent regulatory service across the full range of Trading Standards duties.
You will need to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, together with an ability to build good working relationships with people to enable the achievement of the team's objectives.
