Trainee Seed Analyst In Charge

We are looking for a Trainee Seed Analyst in charge to join the GFP team, based at Brigg, on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be working with our wider team and will be responsible for seed analysis, working in a busy Grain Laboratory whilst upholding Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
You will also have the chance to work towards the Laboratory management qualification (Analyst in Charge) for cereals and pulses.The BenefitsCompetitive salary25 days holiday per calendar year with option to purchase 5 more daysDedicated Learning & Development team to support you and your careerEmployee Assistance Program providing 24 hours support & advice in areas such as health and wellbeing for yourself, your family & friends (up to 5 people in total)Increased Maternity, Paternity & Adoption leave benefits for eligible employeesLife Assurance scheme and pension plan with employer contributions of up to 7%Cycle to Work Scheme, employee retail discount scheme and free eye test vouchersAbout YouExperience of working in a Laboratory or similar working environment (desirable) Seed Analyst part 1 qualified (desirable)Analyst in Charge qualified (desirable)Good working knowledge of Microsoft office A flexible approach to working hours during peak seasonGood communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externallyAbility to work on own initiative, drawing conclusions, managing own workload and time, whilst developing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues and customersCrop Inspectors Licence (desirable – training may be given to the right candidate)Your RoleAs a Trainee Seed Analyst in Charge your role will involve:Analysing seed, grain and pulses for both GFP and third-party customersEnsuring procedures are followed for grain testingEnsuring certification procedures are followed for seed analysisRecording all samples on to the system and inputting dataCarrying out research for external companiesChecking equipment is working accuratelyEnsuring all records are accurate and any anomalies are highlighted to the Laboratory ManagerCovering the Laboratory Manager in their absence Crop Inspection and seed sampling Work towards achieving the Laboratory Manager qualification Communicating and reporting of results to internal and external customersLiaising with official bodies and their representativesInvolvement with internal and external audits (training available as required)
