Job summary We are a busy Technical Services Unit within the Pharmacy Department at York Hospital.
Our aseptic services unit is a specialised service preparing bespoke chemotherapy, Monoclonal Antibodies as well as some Parenteral Nutrition products and a small range of other IV products.
Suitable candidates would be required to work in a cleanroom environment where duties are interesting and varied.
Duties range from cleaning, maintaining, and monitoring of the cleanroom environment and equipment and stock management of drugs and consumables.

Applicants must also hold GCSE's in maths and English language (or equivalent) at Grades C/4 or above.
Main duties of the job You will be required to participate in the aseptic preparation of medicines.
This involves working at a pharmaceutical isolator preparing a range of intravenous medication.
Full training will be given.
You will also be required to participate in the decontamination and disinfection of the aseptic unit.
The aseptic unit is a sterile, clean room environment where the preparation of pharmaceutical products takes place.
You will also undertake some environmental monitoring duties which are essential in ensuring that the environment remains in a controlled state.
There are also administration tasks to undertake as well as stock management activities such as stock checks, receipt of stock and expiry date checks.
We are looking for a conscientious individual who will take a methodical approach to a task and who appreciates the importance of following procedures.
The entry banding for this role is either a Band 2 or Band 3.
This is dependent on prior Pharmacy qualifications and experience.
This will be discussed at Interview.
Once fully trained and qualified the post will be a Band 3.
This is a fulfilling role in itself but it is also a great steppingstone into Pharmacy with many different opportunities for career development.
