Trainee Machinist

The key responsibilities and duties of the Trainee Machinist include, but are not limited to:Operate a Variety of Machines to perform assigned tasks, you will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment (CNC) and accurate measuring instrumentsRead and Review paperwork, drawings and Instructions to understand specifications of outputPlan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a jobTake accurate measurements using micrometres, Vernier callipers, height gauges etc.Set up, operate and maintain machine toolsMonitor machine while working to adjust the speeds and feeds and make set up changes if necessaryPerform routine machine coolant checks, maintenance and tooling checksOperate overhead Crane The ideal Trainee Machinist should meet the following requirements:Minimum GCSE level or equivalentAbility to communicate fluently in written and spoken EnglishQualification in an engineering subject would be desirableIllustrate previous knowledge and experience in Machine Shop/ Engineering FacilityGood awareness and understanding of PPEPrevious experience with CNC or manual Machine Tools desirable, but not essentialAble to use their own initiativeGood communicato r- ability to communicate with staff on business, and other issues that affect the businessMonday to Friday (Double day 06:30-14:30 / 14:30-22:30)Occasional loud noises from machinery and other production department activityMust be willing to work shifts Please note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the UK.
