Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit three dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative individuals to join our team and work within the NHS York and Selby Talking Therapies Service.
The service is an integrated Step 2, Step 3 and counselling service covering York, Selby, Pocklington, Easingwold and Tadcaster geographical areas.
We also have a dedicated Employment Advisory Team to support service users whilst within treatment.
Main duties of the job In this role, you will provide High Intensity interventions whilst undertaking the PG Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy delivered by Sheffield University which commences in March 2025.
This training post will equip you to provide a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of common mental health problems in primary care, for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.We are keen to appoint people who are committed to a career within NHS York and Selby Talking Therapies.
On successful completion of the course you will be expected to work towards accreditation with the BABCP.Upon successful completion of the course you will progress to being promoted to a qualified High Intensity Therapist position on a permanent contract.The successful candidates will need to be flexible, well organised, evidence reliability and demonstrate the ability to cope with a demanding job.
The post holder will be enthusiastic, hard working and able to meet specified targets in order to deliver a high quality service to the local population.
About us NHS York and Selby Talking Therapies offer a hybrid working model with a mix of homeworking and working from different venues across the York and Selby locality.You will also be expected to be flexible and provide out of hours clinics and travel to different locations as required by service need.The successful candidates will need to be available to travel to Sheffield University for the teaching days and commit to the year long duration of the training course.IMPORTANT:You will need to be in a position to commence training from March 2025.

All candidates (CORE or PWP/KSA route) will be required to have 2 years post qualifying experience (from date on exam board) prior to commencement of the course.Further details and common Q&A regarding KSA can be found in the Candidate Information Pack attachment A completed portfolio should be emailed in advance of your interview to k. The portfolio will need to be completed and ratified prior to the training starting in March 2025.
If you are a PWP, without a core profession, you will need to have a minimum of2 YEARS POST QUALIFICATION PWP EXPERIENCE by the time the course starts (March 2025).
If you DO NOT clearly show that you will have two years experience as a qualified PWP, you cannot, unfortunately, be considered.

Use approved breakaway techniques Demonstrate effective keyboard skills Qualifications Essential A core profession as recognised by BABCP And Registered with a professional regulatory body (HCPC, NMC, GMC, Social Work England) AND For those with a CORE PROFESSION post qualifying experience in secondary care mental health settings is essential.
OR An undergraduate degree in a relevant field to mental health AND NON-CORE PROFESSION substantial experience demonstrating a breadth of experience in two or more mental health settings to meet KSA requirements.
AND Knowledge of the KSA requirements for accreditation AND Evidence the experience and knowledge below in order to complete a KSA portfolio Desirable Understanding of other psychological therapies .
