Job summary Job Title -Trainee Gynaecology Oncology Nurse SpecialistHours per week- 30 hours per weekFixed Term - 12 monthsSalary-£46,148 - £52,809 Per annum pro rataClosing Date - 28th November 2024Interview Date - 6th December 2024 Main duties of the job Provide and receive complex, sensitive / highly complex, sensitive or contentious information, barriers to understanding.Facilitate communication, which results in clear responsibilities being identified within the multi-professional team.Communicate very sensitive, complex condition related information to patients, relatives providing empathy and reassurance.There is a requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers requiring tact and diplomacy.To co-ordinate the patients journey, acting as a key worker, and lead on patient communication issues..Ability to lead change and lead new ways of working.To be responsible for the assessment of needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care in line with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and reflect the Trusts policies, procedures standards and guidelines.To demonstrate the skills for assessing and interpreting specialist acute and other patient conditions, taking actions as appropriate.

Person Specification Experience and Knowledge Essential Extensive clinical experience, minimum of 3 years post registration experience to include at least 1 year of management/leadership experience at band 6 Experience or above.
Surgical nursing experience.
Evidence of innovation in practice, participation in research Good communication skills.
Experience of audit within the healthcare setting Specialty knowledge Understands need to complete Advanced Nurse practitioner study at MSc Level Desirable On-going personal/professional development: Evidence of master's level study; Non-medical Prescribing; Advanced Health Assessment Course Specialist Cancer Nurse Training Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse Evidence of working towards specialty related Degree or evidence of continuing academic progression in combination with equivalent Oncology experience Recognised certified course Cert in teaching or equivalent Desirable Master's degree Research qualification Skills and Abilities Essential ENB 998 or equivalent or experience of formal teaching to groups of staff Formal leadership and management training, leadership and motivation skills, Excellent communication skills Organisational and negotiation skills, ability to respond to changing demands of service Excellent specialty knowledge Understanding of the modern NHS and Trust strategy Be willing to complete diagnostic courses relevant to the post, hysteroscopy, colposcopy, and Gynaecology Ultrasound Scanning Assertive & confident, Personal & professional maturity, recognition of own limitations, demonstrates enthusiasm, able to influence other professional groups Able to demonstrate behaviors consistent with Trust values and behaviors Able to demonstrate a commitment and understanding of the importance of treating all individuals with dignity and respect appropriate to their individual needs
