Department FunctionThe Technical and Design department provides tools and guidance to the business, including standard house types, construction specifications and construction details.
The guidance can be formal, such as documents like "Our Approach to Placemaking" and help given through the technical feedback forum, or it may be more ad hoc, with a simple phone call or visit to site to discuss an issue.
The T&D team is also involved in the leadership of TW, through tactical or strategic interventions such as the development of a new house-type range, improving our groundworks design or running training programs for our design and technical staff.
The T&D team also have a part to play in building the TW community, through events such as the Technical Directors conferences, the Design Competition, and the Design Leads conference.

Primary ResponsibilitiesWhat will you learn?
From site foundations to engineering processes, our comprehensive training covers every aspect of the development lifecycle.
You'll dive into:  Site Foundations: From instructing site investigation reports to understanding topographical surveys, you'll master the fundamentals of building on solid ground.
Road & Sewer Principles: Collaborate with industry-leading consultants, hone your AutoCAD skills, and grasp the intricacies of drainage design to create efficient, sustainable communities.
Engineering Process: Learn to navigate technical reports, manage submissions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, all while supporting our land bids and legal processes.
Adoptions: Gain insights into post-construction management, bond reductions, and maintenance protocols, ensuring the longevity and prosperity of our developments.
Health, Safety and Environment: Identifying foreseeable risk in designs and ensure that processes are followed and recorded.
Ensure that appropriate mitigation is taken with regards to environmental/ecological constraints to allow development to progress.
Land and Planning & Community Engagement: supports with technical submissions and approvals with the Land teams Pre-Development: supports with all aspects of pre-development of sites which includes, securing technical reports and interpretating these, preparing engineering design and maintain records of any changes.
Development Management: support the sites from start to close, assisting the production team with any technical queries related to engineering.
