What is the RoleIn this role, you'll mainly work as part of a team carrying out various overhead line inspections and maintenance whilst also carrying out work on construction projects on the 33kV & 132kV overhead line network.- You'll be responsible for the safety of yourself and colleagues, and act as an ambassador for a strong safety culture in everything you do.- The role can be demanding and you'll be required to respond quickly to emergency situations; we want to provide the best possible service to our customers in their time of need.What do I need?To ensure you get the most from your role, it would be beneficial if you have the following:- Must have previous experience and knowledge of overhead line tower work.- Previous examples and knowledge of working outdoors in all weather conditions.- A relevant qualification, SSE or equivalent DNO Operational Authorisations or Tower Rescue experience would be advantageous.- You will need a full UK driving license for the position.Whilst the above skills and experience are important, we also have several personal competencies that we look for in our future employees; a high regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines in everything you do is a key priority, strong communication skills and an ability to convey technical aspects in a transferable manner, enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities.About our Business powers 3.9 million homes and businesses in communities across central southern England and the north of Scotland.
