Job summary Smoking tobacco is the cause of up to 20 years life lost for our mental health service users.50% of smokers will die due to their addiction.Become a Tobacco Dependency Advisor at MPFT, and work towards a Smoke Free Future!Providing services to our Mental Health Inpatient Wards at the Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury.
Main duties of the job Liaise with the Inpatient Mental Health Services to identify people who smoke admitted to the wardsAssess and advise patients that they can stop smoking, and that support is available.Recommend an individual quit plan, including behavioural support and Nicotine Replacement.Advise and educate on the use of vapes as a tool for tobacco abstinence and cessation.Engage in ongoing Quality Improvement as part of a continuous change cycle.
