TMS Application Specialist - Contract Type: Contract
Rate : £300 - £450 per day
Location : Northampton (Hybrid)
We are looking for an experienced TMS Application Specialist to manage and optimise our clients Transport Management System (TMS) within their wider IT ecosystem.
This contract role covers implementation, troubleshooting, training, and migrating legacy systems, ensuring smooth transport operations and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities: System Configuration & IT Management Translate business requirements into functional and technical TMS designs.
Configure and maintain the TMS in line with organizational and regional standards.
Collaborate with vendors or developers to implement system enhancements.
Test, validate, and troubleshoot system configurations to ensure stability and functionality.
Develop reports and maintain interfaces connecting the TMS with partner systems.
Stay updated on new TMS versions and recommend system improvements.
Documentation & Training Create and maintain technical documentation and business requirements.
Train users and IT staff to effectively utilize the TMS.
Required Experience & Skills: Proven experience with TMS implementation, configuration, and support.
Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, EDI, and system interfaces.
Proficiency with reporting tools (e.g., Crystal Reports, SSRS).
Soft Skills & Competencies: Strong communication skills Analytical, problem-solving mindset with project management skills.
