Job summary We have an exciting Band 7 Team Lead opportunity for an Occupational Therapist, to work in our Community Rehabilitation Therapy Team in North Kerrier.
Covering the Community and the Community Assessment and Treatment unit (CATU) at Camborne Redruth Community Hospital, you will be working in partnership with our current, experienced Band 7 Therapy Team Lead and as part of the North Kerrier Integrated Team.
Enhanced Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills are desirable and your area of focus will be CATU, short term therapy assessment and rehabilitation, facilitating discharge and ongoing plans of care.
You will continue to strengthen an effective, integrated multi-disciplinary approach within the locality teams.
If you are an Occupational Therapist with extensive experience of working in the health care setting, this is a fantastic opportunity for the clinical, leadership and management skills you already have to drive excellence and promote rehabilitation within our neighbourhood and as part of the North Kerrier Integrated Team.
This is a full-time post working on a weekly basis to cover either a Saturday or a Sunday.
The service covers 7 days/week including bank holidays.
Main duties of the job To manage and participate in the clinical rota covering CATU To lead and manage the operational services of the Community and Inpatient Therapy teams in North Kerrier, taking into account local health needs and the policy priority of developing services closer to home with a focus on the CATU/Inpatient ward.
Responsible for the delivery and maintenance of high quality evidence based care, focused on meeting the needs and choices of patients, carers and families.
To foster positive relationships with local commissioning boards and community and voluntary organisations.
Responsible for creating an effective, integrated multi-disciplinary approach within the locality teams.
To ensure best practice guidelines and performance standards are met while meeting service targets.
To be an autonomous practitioner responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients with highly complex health and social care needs.
To provide developmental leadership and management to all staff within the locality and with responsibility to form and inform future service development.
Provide support to Integrated Care team Manager (ICM), to accept delegated responsibility for specific tasks.

Person Specification Education/qualification Essential Current professional registration - HCPC Professional qualification - Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist Evidence of Masters level development or willingness to undertake Masters level studies.
Desirable Post registration leadership qualification Skills and Aptitude Essential Teaching, assessing, coaching and mentoring skills to facilitate an effective learning environment Time management skills Perform advanced assessment of patients including those with unpredictable, varied and highly complex presentations.
Leadership skills Knowledge and Abilities Essential Specialist knowledge and application of Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy assessments and interventions Ability to cope with change
