The Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist College in Godstone, Surrey.
We focus on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and make dramatic improvements to young disabled adults' lives.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Care Assistant (LSCA) at our SEN College located in rural Godstone, Surrey (car driver preferable due to location).
LSCAs will be uniquely positioned to consistently support students to achieve their personal developmental goals in all settings and throughout the full week.
Following a two week rota of early and late shifts, the LSCA role will be worked over 44 weeks of the year , with holidays taken outside of term times.
Flexibility may be needed to cover night shifts.
Do you have minimum or two years' experience of working with young people or adults with a range of severe, complex and moderate learning difficulties and/or disabilities?
Have experience of supporting learners with their personal hygiene and intimate care needs in a respectful and dignified manner and able support them to complete out of session work and provide evidence for their education programme?
35 hours per week / 44 weeks per year - permanent, part-time and bank roles considered.

Salary: £21,759.78 per annum pro rata Following a two-week rota system incorporating a mixture of early (07:00 - 15:00), day (09:00 - 17:00) and late (14:30 - 22:30) shift patterns including some weekend working.
Must be flexible to cover nights.
Please note that this is a term time only contract for 44 weeks a year, 38 of which are term weeks, plus 6 weeks of admin, rehearsals, training - to be worked as required by the organisation

Experience working in further education with young adults with learning and/or physical disabilities is desirable.
Essentials Experience & Qualifications: Good level of Maths, English & ICT skills A minimum or two years' experience of working with young people or adults with a range of severe, complex and moderate learning difficulties and/or disabilities Level 2/3 Learning Support Assistant qualification or equivalent Level 2/3 health & Social Care qualification or equivalent Previous experience of working in a learning support/personal care role in further education or specialist provision Able to encourage and motivate learners to lead their care and learning support needs Able to support learners with off-site activities including work, leisure and educational tasks and visits Acted as a key worker and role model for learners Supported learners with their personal hygiene and intimate care needs in a respectful and dignified manner Supported learners to complete out of session work and provide evidence for their education programme
