You will work with the Company Manager, Technical departments, General Management Teams, and local venue staff to ensure the smooth running of all rehearsals and performances. Position Type: Fixed-Term Contract
Reports to: Company Management, General Management, Production Management
Location: West End, London
Responsibilities and Duties: Liaise between Company Manager, Technical departments, Resident Creative Team, Production and General Management Teams, and local venue staff to ensure the smooth running of all rehearsals and performances.Communicate promptly with the Company Manager, Production, General Management, and the Resident Creative Team on any day-to-day changes that might impact the running of the Production.Manage, supervise, and schedule members of the Wardrobe team.Supervise tasks undertaken by the Deputy Head of Wardrobe and support team members in teaching workroom skills.Take an active role in teaching new members of staff, deps, and local dressers and wardrobe maintenance staff and work closely with theatre staff at the touring venues to ensure the smooth running of the production and safe handling of costumes.Perform daily setup, oversee Wardrobe pre-sets, and provide clear communication within the Wardrobe team.Ensure an awareness of understudy and swing performances ahead of each show and make necessary adjustments.Ensure all Costumes are maintained and cleaned so they are in working order for each performance.Conduct costume fittings when required.Learn and execute the tracks backstage for the Wardrobe Department.Attend rehearsal, technical, dress, and understudy rehearsals as required.Responsible for repairing Costumes as instructed and maintaining the show's quality as dictated by the artistic requirements and under the direction of the Production Manager and Resident Creative Team.Handle any problems that occur during performances quickly and calmly.Report and provide feedback on show and staff-related issues in a timely manner.Play a key role in tour moves loading the show in and out of each venue efficiently.Create accurate production paperwork and ensure the efficient flow of information for the smooth running of the show.Acquire familiarity with all plots/tracks within the Wardrobe department to provide holiday or absence cover for other members as required.Attend weekly Head of Department meetings.Work in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy and maintain a good working knowledge of all relevant health and safety legislation and good working practices, liaising closely with Disney's Health and Safety Manager.Liaise closely with Disney's Health and Safety Manager to ensure that the Health and Safety Policy is followed.Work closely and in conjunction with the Company Manager.Skills Required: Experience in a similar role within a large-scale musical production working with an international cast is highly desirable.Clear, confident communication and decision-making skills are essential.Ability to handle problems during performances while remaining focused and calm under pressure.Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills with cast, creative, and production teams.Transparent and open approach, able to work well under pressure, enjoy leading from the front, and by example.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.A full awareness of the need for integrity and confidentiality.Extensive knowledge of costume construction and ability to sew and alter garments.Understanding of different materials and components including Silk, Spandex, fabric surface painting, beading, and zippers.Knowledge of laundering and maintaining stage costumes.Knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation.Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.A strong team player.Ability to follow instructions and department rules.A motivated individual with a drive to learn new skills and maintain a consistently high production standard.Discretion and ability to work closely with others.Well organized across all work.Additional Information: Fixed Term Contract (Start Date: mid-February 2025)48 hours per week.Weekend and evening work integral (Tuesday to Sunday show schedule).This role will require the candidate to understand and follow the Health and Safety rules & regulations in place at the production.For more information or to apply, please use this link: Smart
