The Opportunity Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott's Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.The Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Infectious Diseases Division (ARDx) portfolio is centred around ID Now.
A fast growing, molecular testing platform with the flexibility to test for Covid-19, Influenza A &B, RSV and Strep A.
The ID NOW delivers accurate results in just minutes, giving HCPs real-time access to the information required to make actionable decisions during the first patient visit.
The ID NOW Platform provides diagnostics where and when they are needed most — in near patient settings at the point of care such as Emergency departments, Admissions and Wards.Other products within the portfolio include Binax NOW rapid antigen tests, sexual health testing and womens' health.We are looking for a Key Account Manager for the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division (ARDx).
The territory is South West UK (Avon, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall).
The role is regional but may have national elements.The role of the Key Account Manager is to ensure Abbott Rdx leads in the move toward Point of Care testing for infectious diseases within secondary care as well as identifying and progressing key strategic opportunities within the newly forming Clinical Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) and community landscape.
This will require managing and influencing a wide variety of stakeholders and pathways, working across all levels within the NHS, Public Health and Local Authority settings.
What You'll Do Development of markets and customers, achieving sales targets, providing customer service and key account management activitiesLead and initiate projects or work as part of a project team as required, demonstrate excellent business acumen and strive to meet and exceed agreed financial and strategic objectivesImplement national strategies for new and existing products and services (mapping out and building stakeholder relationships)Build strong relationships with all stakeholders in key accountsParticipating in all sales and marketing meetingsUnderstanding sales strategies and transferring the UK marketing campaigns to a regional levelAbility to articulate issues and business opportunities with relevant customers to secure long term strategic business opportunitiesMaintain and communicate on a regular basis a view of the strategic landscape within your Region to Commercial and Marketing Teams Required QualificationsExcellent track record in sales with strong business acumen and analytical skillsStrong industry experience in medical devices or a diagnostics backgroundFamiliarity with diagnostic industry practices preferableThorough knowledge of UK healthcare industry and NHSFluent in building / constructing compelling business casesInformal coaching and leadership of stakeholdersIT – MS Word, Excel (intermediate), PowerPoint, CRM system(s) Salesforce and Power BIPersonal CharacteristicsEffective communicator, excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to achieve results through influencing othersSelf-starter, possesses flexibility and ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment and ambiguous situationsExcellent relationship builder and able to manage different agendas across customer groupsTeam player with a high level of initiativeExcellent presentation skillsResponsible-minded with a high persuasive powerDriven by objectives, solutions, meet the deadlines and customer satisfactionWorking at Abbott At Abbott, you can do work that matters, grow, and learn, care for yourself and family, be your true self and live a full life.
