The Temporary Works Designer will be instrumental in developing and verifying engineering design solutions for Temporary Works, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Responsibilities: Create and develop Temporary Works designs compliant with BS 5975: 2019 Perform detailed stress calculations and structural analysis Verify and approve Temporary Works designs before implementation Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and other legislative standards Prepare accurate design briefs in consultation with the project team Conduct design checks with a competent, independent authority Develop inspection and test plans with quality control checklists Collaborate closely with Temporary Works Designated Individual (TWDI) and NNB Temporary Works Lead Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status Temporary Works Design certification from CITB or recognised bodies Demonstrable experience as a Temporary Works Designer in Engineering Construction Strong understanding of BS 5975: 2019 and Temporary Works design principles Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, Tekla) Expertise in stress analysis and structural integrity assessments High levels of IT literacy Excellent communication and collaboration skills Salary, Hours and Location £70,000 - £80,000 Annual Salary Car allowance Travel and Accommodation Allowance 37 hours per week, Permanent, Full-time Site-based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a prestigious nuclear project that is crucial to the UK's energy future, working in an environment that emphasises safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
