We are recruiting for a 28.5 hour Waking Night Support Worker in our Dalkeith service, supporting 4 gentlemen who share a large home just outside of town.
This is a temporary role for an initial period of 3 months, with possible extension after this.
The people we support have faced a lot of challenges in the past because of their learning disabilities, Autism and mental health issues, but this hasn't stopped them from enjoying life!
They enjoy lots of activities, including going to parties, dancing, going out for a cuppa, going to the cinema and theatre, eating out, travelling and karaoke.
However, they're always up for trying new things, so are looking for inventive people who are up for the challenge.
The gentlemen we support have 2 pet cats, so it's important that you like cats and are happy to help support the men to care for them.
The service is located just outside of Dalkeith (near Dalkeith country park) and is only accessible by car, so candidates must hold a UK driving license and have access to their own transport.
Our support team are very diverse and work well together to ensure the people we support are happy and safe in their own homes.
This can include: •Supporting them with medication•Cooking •Assisting with personal care•Maintaining the homes of the people we support and managing their finances Our team provide support 7 days a week, so we are looking for flexibility to between Monday and Sunday and waking night shifts are from 9.30pm - 7am.
