Kaplan Assessments is a leading provider of professional level assessments and qualifications. Spanning the Medical, Legal and Professional Services sectors, we support a range of high-stakes organisations - raising day-to-day standards with tailored solutions. One of our key partnerships is with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). In 2018, we were appointed as the independent assessment organisation for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). Launched in 2021, the SQE is the sole pathway to qualifying as a Solicitor in England and Wales, and will ultimately be taken by upwards of 13,000 candidates per year.

Kaplan Assessments is the fastest growing section of the Kaplan Professional group and it is in this exciting context that we are now seeking a Technology Director. A newly created role, the Technology Director for Kaplan Assessments is integral in seizing on this potential. As Technology Director you will be accountable for delivering best-in-class assessments platform(s) to support the Kaplan Assessments business in achieving its strategic goals. This role encompasses building, implementing, operating, and supporting technological products and services essential to the business.
You will be responsible for architecting the future state of Kaplan Assessments' technology and lead a transformation of the current IT platform(s) to drive digital growth and operational scalability. Collaborating across business and technology functions, you will lead the alignment of technical solutions with commercial and customer-centric goals, driving success through both strategic vision and hands-on leadership.
Ideal candidates will bring experience in managing and delivery of technology solutions, strategic planning skills, a passion for innovation and the proven ability to lead cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams. You will possess the ability to assess current systems and design future-state architectures, with experience leading re-platforming exercises using off-the-shelf solutions over custom-built software, and have experience implementing and integrating off-the-shelf solutions, including CRM, ERP, and web content management systems to create seamless user experiences.
