Technician (Psychology) - Salford

The School of Health and Society is looking for a technician to join the directorate of Psychology and Sport, to work as part of the psychology subject area.
The position is for an initial 8-month period.
The directorate of Psychology and Sport sits in the School of Health and Society, where we combine innovative teaching with hands-on skill development to equip students with the knowledge and experiences to advance their research or career.
The school has a multi-disciplinary team of technicians covering areas including Psychology, Sport, Podiatry, Prosthetics and Orthotics, and Radiography.
We are seeking to expand our team with a dedicated psychology technician who will have support the operations of the psychology subject area whilst having the opportunity to develop skills within the areas of human performance and behaviour measurement.
The University could not deliver this level of teaching and knowledge transfer without our skilled technical staff.
We aim to recognise technician's contribution through being a signatory of the national Technician Commitment, which aims to ensure the key themes of visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability are developed.
The individual will be required to:  - To assist in the technical support, procurement of equipment and maintenance of psychology laboratories, equipment and stores adhering to all health & safety policies and procedures.
- To support development of teaching, research and enterprise activities including supporting the creation of subject-specific materials including updating digital platforms.
- As a student facing role the individual will be expected to have excellent customer service skills, provide effective support within a multi-skilled team environment and provide technical support, guidance and knowledge to all stakeholders when required.
Please note that we welcome applications from anyone who can meet the technical proficiency requirements, a background in psychology is not essential!
