Hours or Work Nights: 6.45pm - 7.00am Responsible for the setting and operation of extrusion machines, so that products are made to the correct specifications, quality and in the right quantity.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES To ensure the effective operation of the production line by ensuring the machinery is in good order and is correct settings have been set for the product.
Strip, clean and rebuild the machinery and perform start up processes.
To ensure minimal down time by monitoring the line and trouble-shooting/solving any issues Where problems are more complex, to alert site management and work with them to resolve the issue (which may include external resource) To oversee monitoring and loading of new material, identifying correct mix of materials for product Continuously monitor product quality, adjusting processes and/or material mix to ensure quality thresholds maintained.
To oversee the work of Operators, providing support and instruction where needed To work within guidelines and maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
To cover for colleagues and support the wider team as needed.
SKILLS REQUIRED The ability/skill to run a production line from start to finish, including day-to-day maintenance of the machinery, including the following technical skills: line setting LLDPE including coilers, Zumbach setting, PB rewind setting, Printing set up The ability/skill to be able to learn additional operating procedures, such as BPEX line setting and BPB including coiler, Printing cartridge changes, Ink nozzle alignment.
The ability to conduct fault testing, to diagnose problems and to problem solve issues that may sometimes be complex.
Numeracy and literacy sufficient to ensure the smooth running of the line, including measuring materials and quality requirements.
A detailed understanding of production quality requirements Verbal communication skills to be able to discuss complex technical matters with management and external suppliers.
An ability to explain technical matters to colleagues and support their development.
Is able to take responsibility for day-to-day processes on the production line from start to finish, providing an oversight function along the line as a whole.
Compliance to all health and safety processes and procedures at all times on site.
