The Directorate is composed of Registry, Technical and Administrative teams.
The focus of the Directorate is to provide an outstanding service to all of our users, supporting and enhancing the student experience.SPS Technical Services are now seeking to appoint a Technical Officer to support the delivery of GCU programmes in our Electronic Engineering Department.While working within a well-established team of technicians, the successful candidate will be required to adhere to established procedures and deliver support for the day to day operational needs of our electrical and electronics laboratories.Candidates should be educated to degree level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or possess equivalent relevant experience.
Candidates should also have excellent oral and written communication skills, have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.Other essential criteria for the role include: The ability to design, construct and fault find electronic circuits.Experience of FPGAs/small embedded processor programming.Experience of installation/configuration of software tools in a Windows®networked environment.An understanding of health and safety policies/procedures in a lab setting.The ability to manage and prioritise conflicting workloads.
