Role Overview Seeking a suitably qualified / experienced Technical Manager to work closely with the directors and senior management team to lead, oversee and deliver a high-quality technical support service to customers including specifiers, architects, designers, registered installers and other external stakeholders as well as to internal departments and colleagues.
The role is based full time at the company's head office in Leicestershire (though will require visits to site and other stakeholder offices).
The successful individual will be required to have a broad knowledge of construction methods and practices, preferably including knowledge of both new build and retrofit scenarios, and ideally some experience of the decarbonisation sector and be able to relate this to external wall insulation theory and practice.
The successful post holder will also already have or quickly attain a good understanding of the relevant parts of the UK Building Regulations, PAS 2030 / 2035 Requirements, NHBC Standards, etc., as well as third party Product Certification (e.g.
BBA, Kiwa, etc).
Core Role Requirements Include: Managing and ensuring an effective office-based technical service is available to support external and internal customers.
Distinct focus required on risk management to meet both customer and business needs.
Manage the wider technical team to provide U-value and condensation risk assessments using proprietary software.
(Including developing a good working knowledge of the software for themselves).
Manage the development, production and issue of CAD drawings / Sketch-up details, etc.
in conjunction with CAD Technician.
Manage the wider team to provide written specifications for Systems to meet individual project requirements.
Manage and deliver the provision of telephone, email and video conferencing/on-line technical support service to customers.
Maintain and develop an effective CAD/BIM detail library and document control procedures.
Ensure that all reporting is carried out timeously and in accordance with agreed procedures and content (external and internal reports).
Attend site meetings/inspections and keep accurate notes/reports of such meetings where necessary Attend (or deliver) Technical training sessions, to external and internal customers as necessary.
