Technical Lead (PHP) Location: Devon Salary: up to £75k Role Overview: As a Technical Lead, you will play a senior role responsible for leading our web team of six developers.
You will serve as a key technical architect, managing technical solutions and debt with a high degree of autonomy.
Your key responsibilities will include leading the technical scoping and delivery of various exciting projects, improving development practices and processes, and removing obstacles that hinder the team's progress.
You will work closely with the wider Engineering team, Product, Project, and Design teams, becoming a trusted advisor who helps enhance our product range.
This role reports directly to the CTO.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with Product, Project, and Design teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions using a customer-centric, design-led approach.
Ensure solutions are secure, well-tested, and low-debt.
Prototype technical solutions.
Conduct agile ceremonies, leading solution development teams to efficient and timely delivery.
Continuously improve internal development processes and practices to ensure the team runs smoothly and efficiently.
Ensure processes are followed within the web team, including maintaining appropriate documentation.
Champion automation.
Participate in hands-on coding opportunities.
Perform ad hoc tasks as required by the business.
Ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications: Extensive experience with web and mobile technologies, with a focus on application development.
Proven experience in a technical lead role, including mentoring other developers.
Hands-on experience with PHP frameworks, including Symfony.
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS.
Familiarity with design-led and mobile-led approaches.
Appreciation of good UI/UX design.
Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience managing production systems.
Experience delivering SaaS solutions.
