Group Technical Director / Fresh Produce / covering Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire Salary: Competitive, depending on experience About the Company - This leading provider of high-quality products in the food industry, renowned for their commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability.
Are looking for an experienced and driven Technical Director to join their team and lead their technical operations across all sites.
This is a pivotal role responsible for aligning customer expectations with the delivery of group objectives while driving innovation, quality improvement, and strategic leadership.
About the Role - As Technical Director, you will be the key technical expert within the business, collaborating closely with senior commercial and operational teams to ensure products meet the highest standards.
You will be accountable for enhancing internal and external communication, mentoring technical teams, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining compliance.
You will play a crucial role in shaping the future direction of the group by leading the technical function, driving innovation, and championing our internal ESG strategy.
Responsibilities Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, ensuring high-quality standards are met across the group.
Lead the development and implementation of long-term technical strategies and KPIs, focusing on continuous improvement.
Drive innovation (NPD/EPD) and ensure it remains central to the group's business strategy.
Enhance internal communication by aligning customer aspirations with operational activities.
Provide leadership on technical, quality, and food safety matters, ensuring consistent best practices across all sites.
Develop and mentor technical management teams, promoting a culture of quality and excellence.
Support business growth by maintaining strong customer relationships and collaborating with commercial teams on product development.
Champion environmental sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of operations.
Ensure the group is audit-ready and compliant with BRCGS standards at all times.
Qualifications A relevant degree or equivalent in a technical field, with significant experience in food technical roles.
Deep understanding of BRCGS v9 standards and food safety systems, ideally HACCP (Level 4) qualified.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire teams.
Proven track record in delivering continuous improvement initiatives and driving innovation.
Experience in managing multiple sites and working with senior management teams.
Commercially astute with strong retail customer service experience.
Passion for quality, sustainability, and operational excellence.
