We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Buyer to join the team in Royston.
The successful candidate will have the autonomy to significantly impact procurement and sourcing decisions for Safeline X-Ray, whilst working with a wide range of local and global cross functional team members to support various business objectives.

Key Responsibilities Pro-actively identify, escalate and address risks to production requirements.
Includes but not limited to: Supplier capacity constraints/shutdowns, supplier lead times, schedule stability, and planned deviation to expected inventory levels.
Manage specific allocated supplier performance and relationships, both existing and new opportunities.
Secure supplier capacity and communicate accurate forecasting.
Set up and manage vendor contracts relative to your supplier base.
Select, qualify, and set up new suppliers.
This includes price negotiation and service level definition to better improve business targets and objectives.
Reduce outstanding obsolescence and end of life material challenges while ensuring the inventory holding is adhering to company targets.
Support the Engineering department in the effective implementation of new parts, where needed.
Develop and foster a close relationship with relevant Engineering team members to actively represent the Customers Voice.
Attend and participate actively in relevant design review meetings where necessary.
What You Need Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field At least 2 years of experience in a technical procurement role, managing supplier relationships, facilitating supplier selection and sourcing new components, assemblies, and systems.
Experience with SAP and a good working knowledge of material management systems including MRP.
Ability to create and execute supplier development strategies and supplier rationalization projects.
Ability to interact with suppliers, peers, employees, and external agencies.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
Delivery focused mindset, with demonstrable track record of on-time delivery.
