Opportunity... As the Technical Authority Lead, you'll take a central role in developing and delivering design modification safety cases for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project, focusing on resolving emergent design issues on-site.
Your key responsibilities will include leading design modification safety justifications and supporting the development of nuclear safety case capabilities within the Joint Design Office (JDO).
In this role, you'll be a vital member of the Technical Authority team, which acts as an extension of the HPC Design Authority on site.
You'll manage the safety case while driving solutions to complex problems across various project areas.
Reporting to the Technical Authority Manager.

What you'll be doing... You will be responsible for leading and delivering nuclear safety case justifications for emergent transverse issues and design changes at the HPC site.
These topics could be across a range of disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, and Civil engineering.
While current site activities are mainly focused on Civil engineering, the project is transitioning towards Mechanical, Electrical, and HVAC concerns, with growing safety case implications as it progresses.

Being a Technical Authority Lead at HPC means possessing strong communication and presentation skills, enabling you to effectively engage with a variety of stakeholders across the wider business.

You'll have the capability to understand a broad range of technical analyses, lead pragmatic solutions, challenge existing strategies, and translate technical knowledge into clear, concise, and coherent information.
We're looking for someone with working knowledge and experience in leading and managing nuclear safety case development, ideally with familiarity with the HPC Safety Case and UK EPR Design.
Practitioner knowledge of ALARP principles and their application is also beneficial.
