Job Introduction Our Motor Recoveries team in Birmingham is part of our Claims Solutions Group.
Our specialist team provides expert and practical advice over a range of areas:Subrogated Motor RecoveriesUninsured Loss RecoveriesRecovery of overpayments and duplicate paymentsFirst party recoveriesWe are currently accepting applications from qualified or soon to be qualified lawyers who are experienced supervisors, looking to move to the next level and an exciting career within a supportive team and ambitious firm.

You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles!What you will doDirect line management of any Supervisor or lawyer who reports directly into them, including responsibility for:Undertaking annual and interim performance review discussions of the Supervisor, to review overall performance, progress against objectives, behavioural compliance, development and career progression opportunitiesAbsence management of the Supervisor, including conducting return to work interviewsCascading and communicating information and supporting the Team Partners with the running of DRIVE and CONNECT team meetingsInduction of new Supervisors and ensuring that the team's induction processes and documents are regularly reviewed and updated to remain up to dateMotivating and engaging the team, as well as overseeing the well-being of the workforceIdentifying and recognising positive performance and behavioursTo be directly responsible for driving and improving financial performance of the Supervisors and their teams through effective management and support of SupervisorsSpecific accountability for driving performance in the following areas:Ensuring internal and external SLAs and KPIs are communicated, met or exceeded and the work of the team is of the highest standard to exceed client expectationsCollective team achievement of agreed financial targetsEnsuring that Supervisors and their teams deliver prompt billing, including the need for timely bill production, appropriate write off of WIP and chasing of outstanding debtEnsuring that Supervisors and their teams overall provision of MI is timely and accurate, through regularly analysing and acting on MI error reports, carrying out monthly MI audits and providing feedback to Supervisors on any issues to address with lawyersEnsuring that Supervisors are effectively managing, coaching and technically supervising lawyersCarrying out daily whiteboard meetings, updating attendance and occupancy tool and sustaining the Op Ex way of working (as applicable to team)Ensuring any performance or conduct issues in respect of individual lawyers are proactively identified and addressed by the Supervisor, with support from the Team Partner, Operations Manager and HR as appropriateLiaising closely with Operations Managers on any issues arising and the day to day management of billing / debt / WIP / Unbilled disbursements / credit balancesEnsuring any escalated risk or compliance issues that are raised by Supervisors within a case are addressed, managed and escalated to the relevant Client Relationship Partner, Team Partner/ Associate, Head of Product, Head of Services, Operations Manager and Practice Governance & RiskEffective allocation of work amongst the team to meet the skills and technical knowledge of the individuals in the team, whilst ensuring work is carried out profitably for the business and clientResponsibility for all recruitment activities within the team, apart from authorisation, working alongside the Recruitment Team and Operations Manager and supported by the SupervisorImplementing the supervisory process for both Supervisors and their lawyers, in line with the strategy agreed with the Team Partner and Operations Manager Responsibility for liaising with the Team Partner and Operations Manager in relation to capacity planningOverall accountability for ensuring the Supervisors carry out their roles effectively, providing cover for the Supervisors during absence or supporting Supervisors who are developing into the roleResponsibility for encouraging innovative ideas and ensuring that a culture of continuous improvement developsWho you are Qualified or soon to be qualified lawyersPrevious team management and / or supervision experienceA high level of personal compliance with DAC Beachcroft Group protocols and proceduresA high level of personal compliance with client SLAs, protocols and KPIsEvidence of achievement of personal financial performanceA sound understanding of commercial management and financial deliveryKeen eye for detail to ensure data produced by the team is accurate and can be used to identify trendsEvidence of strong people management skills including the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members at all levelsOrganised and able to handle multiple demands and deadlines simultaneouslyAble to communicate confidently orally and in writing at all levelsDemonstrates alignment with the Firm's Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).About DAC BeachcroftWe are a leading international legal business with over 2,900 colleagues and a diverse range of capabilities.
